Outmake Download

Release notes

What's new, improved and fixed in each version of Outmake.

Model links, and fixes for ChatGPT chats.

New

  • A link to a model opens it in Outmake. outmake://models/huggingface/<owner>/<model> or outmake://models/civitai/<number> shows that one model in Models, at the size that fits your Mac. Nothing downloads until you press Get.

Improved

  • Outmake's window comes to the front when you open it, and when a link opens it.
  • ChatGPT signs in with OpenAI's own Codex program on every Mac, the way Claude signs in with Claude Code.
  • A failed reply says more: a weekly or session limit, a provider under heavy demand, a model that can't run commands or read files, and a network that blocks secure connections each get their own words.
  • A freeze report says what Outmake was doing when it stopped answering.
  • Voice control presses the right keys on French, German, Dvorak and other keyboards.
  • A llama.cpp server you run yourself is found on its new default port.
  • Outmake tells OpenRouter its name with each request, so OpenRouter counts it as an app. Nothing about you is in it. The privacy policy's OpenRouter line says so.

Fixed

  • In a ChatGPT chat, a command's step showed an exit code and none of what the command printed.
  • Claude's "Compacting the conversation" line had stopped appearing, and a message sent meanwhile wasn't held for it.
  • /plan did nothing in a ChatGPT chat.
  • A ChatGPT chat could open with a failed step about a connector that hadn't failed.
  • After an agent updated itself, the next chat downloaded Node.js and OpenCode again, or couldn't start with no internet.
  • A task scheduled for one date was set wrong on a Mac that uses a Buddhist, Islamic or Persian calendar.
  • A snapshot downloaded iCloud and OneDrive files that weren't on the Mac.
  • Asking by voice about a Git project on a Mac without Apple's developer tools opened Apple's installer.
  • Sound files of spoken replies built up for as long as Outmake stayed open. Each now goes an hour after it was last said.

Passwords.

New

  • Passwords, in Settings: keep logins, verification codes, cards, identities, passports and notes on this Mac, sealed with a key that Touch ID or your Mac's password opens. It stays open for a week after one Touch ID unless you choose sooner.
  • Click into a sign-in field in Outmake's browser and your logins for that site appear under it. A key in the browser's bar searches all of them, and Outmake offers to save a password after a sign-in works.
  • An agent can ask Outmake to fill a sign-in or a card in the browser. In a chat with Full access it signs in without asking; a card, and everything in other chats, waits for your Touch ID. The agent is never shown what was filled.
  • An agent can make an account: Outmake makes the password to the site's own rules, fills it and saves the login.
  • Import from a file exported by Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Apple Passwords, 1Password, Bitwarden, Dashlane, LastPass, Proton Pass, NordPass or KeePassXC. Outmake walks you through the export and picks the file up from Downloads.
  • Used Passwords lists every time an agent asked for one.
  • Outmake opens web links from other apps, and can be chosen as the default browser in System Settings.
  • Aero, a second look for the window under Settings › Appearance: glass that shows a sky behind it, glossy buttons, a chat that flows into its page like a tab, and widgets with shapes of their own. It works in light and dark and takes any accent colour.
  • ⌘K finds everything: chats, pages, settings, models and commands in one box.
  • Voices act. One set of cues (a laugh, a whisper, a pause) works across every model and voice, and ElevenLabs voices can be added with your own key.
  • An upscaler that adds detail, and a narration voice for each storyboard.

Improved

  • Buttons, rows and cards across the app light up under the pointer.
  • Enhance Prompt keeps your own words.
  • First-run setup says what it's doing at each step, with one Back button.
  • The first-run agreement can be read with no internet connection.
  • In Outmake's browser, an agent now waits for you before a buy, send, delete or publish button in Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Japanese, Chinese and Korean, as it already did in English.
  • In the chat list, a chat waiting for you has its own mark instead of a dot in another colour.

Fixed

  • With Approve for Me on, an agent could change shell start-up files or read keys in your home folder without asking. It asks now.
  • A chat, scheduled task, storyboard or draft that couldn't be saved (a full disk) failed without a word. Outmake says so.
  • A first chat could bring up the Mac's Location question unasked.
  • On a Mac that can't run a voice on its own chip, the voice engine crashed each time it was tried. It explains instead.
  • A model engine left running by a crash is stopped the next time Outmake opens.
  • A window that froze with the chat at its widest beside a tab.
  • Chimes no longer switch AirPods into call mode.

Security

  • A note recalled from Memory is handed to an agent marked as information, never as instructions.
  • Lending this Mac's memory to a paired Mac is off until you turn it on.

0.1

BetaRequires macOS 26 or later

The first public beta. Everything here is new, and some of it is rough: what we already know about is under Known issues.

New

  • Chat from the notch or a full window with Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, OpenCode, or a model that runs on this Mac.
  • Models: browse open models, see which fit this Mac before downloading, and run them with no account.
  • Studio: make and edit pictures and video on this Mac, with styles, storyboards, upscaling, and a Gallery of what others have made.
  • Advanced: set steps, guidance, sampler, scheduler, size and seed yourself, and save the settings as a preset in the Quality menu.
  • Voice: talk to Outmake, have replies read aloud, and dictate into any app.
  • Memory: one memory shared by every agent, which you can read, edit and erase.
  • A browser inside each chat, with Signed In and Private tabs.
  • Tabs in a chat for pages, files and apps, beside the chat or in its place, and a terminal underneath.
  • Files open in their chat to read and edit, with Markdown shown as it reads and code coloured.
  • Helpers an agent starts each open as a chat of their own, so you can watch one work.
  • Access: choose how much an agent may do without asking. Sending, buying, deleting and publishing always ask first.
  • Updates install themselves, signed and checked before they open, and wait for a reply to finish.
  • Send Feedback, under Help, reaches us directly.
