Local AI models by Mac

Every Apple silicon Mac by chip and memory. Each page judges the whole catalog for that Mac the way the app does: what runs, which size, what it uses, how fast it writes.

Memory decides what fits. The chip decides how fast it writes. About This Mac, under the Apple menu, says both.

To chart, rank and compare several hundred more chat models from Hugging Face on one of these Macs, use Compare models.

On a PC, the graphics card's own memory decides instead: models by graphics card.
