Pictures

Making and editing pictures, and the AI label every picture carries.

Pictures (View › Pictures) is where every picture Outmake makes ends up, whether you made it there or in a chat.

Making a picture

Type what you want in the Pictures bar and press Return, or ask for one in a chat. Outmake sends the prompt to whichever maker is set (OpenAI, Apple, Draw Things, Free Online, or a model on This Mac) and shows it as it's drawn.

Two buttons beside Make help with the words. Enhance Prompt rewrites them the way the chosen model reads best, on this Mac, with Undo. Example Prompts shows the sample pictures the makers of a model on this Mac, and of each style that's on, made. Point at one to read the prompt behind it; click to start from it. It only appears when a maker published some.

Editing

Open a picture to edit it. The Picture menu and the viewer's toolbar carry Rotate Left, Rotate Right, Flip Horizontal, Flip Vertical, Crop, Adjust Color…, Upscale, Remove Background and Extend. Upscaling and removing a background both run on this Mac's own GPU, with nothing downloaded or sent anywhere. Every edit keeps an Undo.

Move to Trash

Select a picture and press Move to Trash (⌘⌫), from the toolbar, the Picture menu, or a picture's own menu. It goes to the Trash, not gone for good, and Outmake shows an Undo so you can bring it straight back.

Save a Copy

Use Save a Copy… to write a copy of a picture to a folder you choose. The original stays exactly where it was, in Outmake's own Pictures folder, and nothing already in the folder you chose is replaced.

The AI label

Every picture Outmake makes is marked, in its own metadata, as made by AI, naming the model that made it. Anything that reads a picture's metadata (Preview’s Get Info, another app, another person’s copy of the file) can find that label. It isn’t a signed Content Credential (C2PA), just metadata written into the file.
