What you need
- A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) on macOS 26.
- Outmake, free, with no account: outmake.app.
- A Civitai account only for models whose makers share them with members. Signing in happens on civitai.com in your browser; Outmake never sees your password.
1. Find a model
Open Models (View › Models). Search finds any picture model on Civitai and Hugging Face that runs on this Mac. You can also paste a model’s link from civitai.com.
To browse by look, open the Gallery tab. It shows pictures people posted on Civitai, made with models Outmake can run. Open one to see which model made it.
2. Check that it fits
Every model card says how it fits this Mac before you download it: Runs great, Runs well, Tight fit or Too big. Outmake works this out from the Mac’s memory and what else is using it.
3. Download it
Press Download. A download can be paused and picked up again, and it carries on the next time Outmake opens if you quit partway through.
4. Make a picture
Open Pictures (View › Pictures), type what you want and press Return. To start from a picture you liked in the Gallery, use Use Prompt: it puts that picture’s prompt and settings into Pictures.
5. Add a style
Styles, also called LoRAs, give a picture model a look, a character or more detail. Search in the Styles tab finds any style on Civitai and Hugging Face and shows which of your models it works with. Each style works only with the model named on its card, and once downloaded it’s used on that model’s new pictures.
Which models run
Pictures run on stable-diffusion.cpp, which covers SDXL, FLUX, Z-Image, Qwen-Image and more. A model too big for your Mac says so on its card before you spend the download.
Video
The Video tab lists models that make a few seconds of video from your words, a picture or both. Each one says how long a video takes on this Mac.
